About us
The Junior Classics League is a student-led initiative designed to introduce middle and high school students to structured discussion of classical texts. The program focuses on close reading, seminar-style discussion, and written analysis of foundational works in classical literature, with the aim of developing careful interpretation, reasoned argumentation, and intellectual independence.
“In the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.”
― Mortimer J. Adler, Author of How to Read a Book: The Classic Guide to Intelligent Reading
“The study of classical texts develops habits of close reading, disciplined argumentation, and independent thought."
— Christopher Wang, Co-Founder of the Junior Classics League
